The Perak State Government and the PCCCI held a networking session with a 35-member delegation from the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) on 18 June 2025 at 12:00 p.m., at the Perak State Government Building. The delegation, led by SCCCI President Mr. Kho Choon Keng and his wife, includes Vice-President Mr. Lee Sze Leong, Core Council Member Mr. Ang Boon Cheow, Chairman of Sustainability Committee Mr. Wong Chee Herng, Council Members Mr. Tay Khiam Back and Ms. Yeah Lee Ching, Honorary Council Member Mr. Goh Tiong Yong and other delegates.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The session was hosted by Perak\u2019s State Executive Councillor for Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development, YB Loh Sze Yee. The event also invited YB Ong Sing Guan, State Assemblyman for Pokok Assam to attend. Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Invest Perak and Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak (PKNP) briefed on the investment situation in Perak.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Invest Perak presented several key points during the networking session, with responses provided by YB Loh Sze Yee:<\/p>

  1. Policy Improvement and Welcome to Foreign Investment<\/strong>\uff1a<\/li><\/ol>

    YB Loh Sze Yee pointed out that, since the unity government took office more than two years ago, Perak's investment environment and policies have significantly improved. The state government is actively welcoming Singaporean businesses to set up factories and invest in Perak.<\/p>

    1. Past Challenges<\/strong>\uff1a<\/li><\/ol>

      Over the past 20 years, Perak has lagged behind other states in attracting foreign investment. Despite Pakatan Harapan (PH) previously governing, there was a lack of coordination between federal and state-level policies, leading to stagnation in economic development.<\/p>

      1. Coordination Between Central and State Governments<\/strong>\uff1a<\/li><\/ol>

        After the 15th General Election, the unity government took power, and both the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister represent Perak constituencies. With ministers such as Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, the coordination between federal and state policies has become smoother, benefiting economic development.<\/p>

        1. Industrial Park Development<\/strong>\uff1a<\/li><\/ol>

          Currently, Perak has promoted several industrial parks, including:<\/p>

          • Kuala Gula Integrated Green Industrial Park (KIGIP)<\/li>
          • Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC)<\/li>
          • Advanced High-Tech Vehicle (AHTV) Automotive Valley<\/li>
          • Sungai Siput Technology Park (SVTP)<\/li><\/ul>
            1. Foreign Investment Prospects<\/strong>\uff1a<\/li><\/ol>

              YB Loh Sze Yee revealed that large enterprises are already preparing to set up factories in Perak, and he believes that visible results will be seen in the near future.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

              President Dato\u2019 Liew Chee Ming, representing PCCCI, emphasized that there is vast potential for cooperation and complementary advantages between Perak and Singapore. Singaporean businesses possess strong capabilities in technology, operations, and international networks, while Perak offers favourable conditions for investment with its resources, talent pool, and strategic location. PCCCI warmly invites Singaporean entrepreneurs to explore the investment opportunities in Perak and assures its full support in facilitating their successful establishment and growth in the state.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
