PCCCI 61st Annual General Meeting 2025 was held at 10 a.m. at the PCCCI 3rd Floor Pak Khuan Hall. PCCCI President Dato\u2019 Liew Chee Ming chaired the AGM. Total attendees were 117 members. All the motions and issues discussed at the AGM were adopted unanimously by the members.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

During his speech at the General Meeting, President Dato\u2019 Liew Chee Ming stated that businesses in the country are currently facing multiple pressures, including the increase of the minimum wage to RM1,700 from February, the gradual implementation of the e-invoicing system, and the expansion of the Sales and Services Tax (SST) to six service sectors\u2014including leasing, maintenance, and logistics\u2014from July, all of which have led to rising overall operating costs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

At the 61st Annual General Meeting of PCCCI in 2025, members unanimously passed two national resolutions and nine proposals concerning Perak. The two national resolutions were PCCCI\u2019s objection to the proposal requiring employers to contribute 2% EPF for foreign workers, and a call for the Federal Government to expand the exemption from the implementation of e-invoicing to other micro and small enterprises.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Perak proposals included urging government agencies involved in industrial and trade development, such as the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), to enhance transparency and simplify application procedures in order to encourage greater participation from businesses of all communities. The proposals also called on the state government to expedite the second phase of the Ipoh Airport expansion project and to increase the frequency of electric train services between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In addition, the proposals also urged the state government to redesign the road access at Ipoh Railway Station and construct a pedestrian bridge; to reduce the number of traffic lights along the Ipoh\u2013Lumut highway; to plan and implement a high-speed rail link between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur at the earliest opportunity; and to expand the North\u2013South Expressway within Perak by adding an additional lane.<\/p>

Furthermore, he proposals also called on the state government to upgrade federal roads connecting major towns within the state into dual-carriageways, and recommended that the traffic lights at the exit of the Simpang Pulai toll plaza on the North\u2013South Expressway be replaced with a dedicated left-turn exit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
