PCCCI successfully held the “PCCCI 118 Legacy Run” on 30 November 2025 at the Ipoh Padang. The event received an overwhelming response, attracting more than 1,300 participants. The run was organized in celebration of PCCCI’s 118th anniversary, featuring two categories: an 11.8 km competitive run and a 5 km fun run.
The event attracted over 1,300 participants from diverse ethnic backgrounds and age groups. From families with children and youth groups to seasoned runners, everyone came together to celebrate the PCCCI’s 118-year legacy through the act of running, while also showcasing the spirit of unity and mutual support in a multicultural society.
The 11.8 km run includes four categories: men open (18–39), women open (18–39), men veteran (40 and above) and women veteran (40 and above). The 5 km fun run includes a junior category (7–17 years) to encourage family participation. The 5 km route passed through historic streets in Ipoh such as Jalan Yau Tet Shin and Jalan Foo Choo Choon.
The flag-off for the 11.8 km category was conducted by the Ipoh Mayor’s representative, Ts. Muhammad Syahril bin Sapiran, Pengarah Kawalan Pembangunan Bandaraya, together with Dato’ Liew Chee Ming; while the 5 km category was flagged off by Dato’ Liew Chee Ming and Mr. Tan Sin Cheng.
This event was not only a test of physical endurance but also a celebration of unity, innovation, and intergenerational strength. Through the “Legacy Run,” the PCCCI showcased its commitment to sustainable development, bridging tradition with modernity and keeping the Chamber’s spirit alive.
The prize-giving ceremony was graced by Clr. Tang Cheng Wei, representing the Minister of Housing and Local Government, YB Nga Kor Ming. The event also successfully completed the presentation of the top ten awards for each 11.8 km category, a lucky draw session, and the presentation of tokens of appreciation to sponsors in recognition of their support for this event.
Earlier, the Legacy Run event was awarded RM10,000 from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government at the PCCCI 118 Anniversary Dinner, as the event fund. In addition, the event received strong support from the following sponsors:
