PCCCI 118th Anniversary Dinner and Youth Committee 18 Anniversary Celebration

PCCCI 118 Anniversary and Youth Committee 18 Anniversary Celebration Dinner was held at AC Hotel by Marriott, Ipoh on 18 October 2025 at 7:30 pm. The Guest of Honour was YB Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government (represented by YB Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education), while the Distinguished Guest was Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, President of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). Total of 80 tables were served.

The dinner, themed “Silver State Night: Legacy, Leadership and Sustainability”, began with a screening of a short video showcasing the PCCCI’s history, followed by Dato’ Liew Chee Ming, YB Wong Kah Woh, Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, Dato’ Seri Lim Kok Cheong, Mr. Tan Sin Cheng, Mr. Lim Ee Young, Mr. Tan Huang Kew, Mr. Yap Kean Lye and Mr. Loh Ban John officially opening the evening.

At the dinner, it was announced that the Ministry of Housing and Local Government had allocated RM40,000 to the PCCCI as event funding, with RM10,000 designated for the upcoming “PCCCI 118 Legacy Run” to be held on 30 November 2025. A mock cheque was presented by YB Wong Kah Woh, on behalf of YB Nga Kor Ming, to PCCCI President Dato’ Liew Chee Ming.

Following that, the launching ceremony of the Octagon Archway Edition took place. The edition meticulously documents the journey of Ipoh’s first Chinese archways “Gerbang Perniagaan Paloh” - from conception and fundraising to completion, highlighting the unity and perseverance of the community.

Souvenirs were also presented to Mr. Tan Huang Kew (conferred the P.P.T. award), Mr. Koh Poh King (conferred the A.M.P. award), Mr. Tan Kin Wai (conferred the A.M.P. award), Ms. Irene Lee (conferred the D.S.P.N. award and carries the title Dato’), and also Dato’ Lim Kok Cheong (conferred the S.P.M.P. award and carries the title Dato’ Seri).

The evening featured a vibrant and varied program, honoring PCCCI’s 118-year legacy while looking forward to the future. Dato’ Chin Lean Choong, together with his family and friends, performed with their band Titans, bringing an outstanding performance to the anniversary dinner.

118 years of shared journey, 18 years of youth in relay. The PCCCI, together with the Youth, will continue to uphold its mission of uniting commerce and serving society, steadily moving forward with the times and working hand in hand toward an even brighter future.
