The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) hosted the 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC), from 9 to 11 September 2024, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). With the theme “Reimagineering the Future”, the 17th WCEC established a key platform to boost global economy as well as common prosperity.
This is the first time in 21 years that the ACCCIM has hosted the WCEC since 2003. This convention has gathered representatives from 168 organizations across 25 countries, with a total of 4,000 delegates from both domestic and overseas attending. PCCCI also sponsored RM 100,000 for the 17th WCEC.




PCCCI participants included Dato’ Lim Kok Cheong, Dato’ Liew Sew Yee, Mr. Yow Thin Chin, Dato’ Ng Yok Gee, Dato’ Liew Chee Ming, Mr. Tan Sin Cheng, Mr. Lim Ee Young, Mr. Tan Huang Kew, Datuk Koh Seng Kiat, Mr. Lee Yeong Wai, Mr. Tan Kin Wai, Mr. Au Wai Yeen, Dato’ Ting Sing Yiew, Mr. Chan Rong Sheng, Mr. Liew Yi Herng, Mr. Tan Tiean Seng, Ms. Ting Hsia Sung, Mr. Lee Hoong Yeh, Mr. Tan Yeh Siang, Sheng Foong Plastic Industries Sdn. Bhd., Santo Trading Co. Ltd. and also China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC).




The conference centered on several key topics, including the geopolitical economic landscape, artificial intelligence and technological transformation, new opportunities in trade and investment, directions for innovation and collaboration, and inclusive development strategies. Its aim was to guide the business community in understanding future trends, exploring forward-looking avenues for cooperation, and jointly creating a new era of prosperity.



In addition, the PCCCI Youth committee demonstrated both energy and responsibility, with 20 members serving as reception officers during the conference, assisting with event operations and guest hospitality. Their participation showcased the professionalism and team spirit of youth. By taking part in this world-class business event, PCCCI not only strengthened its connections with the international Chinese business community but also further enhanced the Chamber’s influence and visibility within the global network of Chinese enterprises, laying a firmer foundation for future economic and trade cooperation.
