The PCCCI Chinese New Year Celebration 2025 was held on 31 January 2025 (Chor 3) at 9:30 am, at the Weil Hotel Grand Ballroom (Level 6). Guest of Honour was YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. This event marked a historic moment, as it was the first time in PCCCI’s 118-year history that a Prime Minister had attended its Chinese New Year open house, a great honour for the Chinese business community.
In addition, PCCCI would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Youth Members for their assistance in managing guest registration and ensuring smooth entry on the day of the celebration. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year, the organizing committee paid a courtesy visit to three orphanages (Pusat Jagaan Vision Home, Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nurul Iman, and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Harapan Baru) on 18 January 2025, and donated RM 1,000 to each orphanage from the PCCCI charity fund.
At the same time, the organizing committee also purchased daily necessities worth RM 1,000 each for of the three orphanages. Mr. Lim Ee Young (Yee Lee Corporation Bhd.) generously sponsored essential household items, while Mr. Tang Yue Hong and Mr. Lo Kum Moon contributed items for the goodie bags, bringing warmth and care to the children. The video filmed during the committee’s visit to the orphanages was also presented during the Chinese New Year celebration.
During the event, Menteri Besar Perak, YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani bin Mohamad handed over RM 100,000 mock cheque (allocation through Perak State Government) to PCCCI, which was received by PCCCI President Dato’ Liew Chee Ming, on behalf of the chamber. The special occasion was witnessed by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim and YB Nga Kor Ming. YB Woo Kah Leong, Mr. Tan Sin Cheng, Mr. Lim Ee Young, Mr. Tan Huang Kew and Mr. Yap Kean Lye also present to witness the occasion.
The celebration was marked by the Yee Sang tossing, speeches, cultural and dance performances, as well as video presentation. Total of 60 tables were served.
