The PCCCI Chinese New Year Celebration 2025 was held on 31 January 2025 (Chor 3) at 9:30 am, at the Weil Hotel Grand Ballroom (Level 6). Guest of Honour was YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. This event marked a historic moment, as it was the first time in PCCCI’s 118-year history that a Prime Minister had attended its Chinese New Year open house, a great honour for the Chinese business community.
Attendees included YB Nga Kor Ming (Minister of Housing and Local Government), YB Chang Lih Kang (Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation), YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abd Kadir (Minister of Higher Education), YB Wong Kah Woh (Deputy Minister of Education), YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani Bin Mohamad (Menteri Besar of Perak), Dato’ Seri Lim Kok Cheong and Dato’ Liew Sew Yee (PCCCI Life Honorary Presidents), Dato’ Liew Chee Ming (PCCCI President), Mr. Tan Sin Cheng (PCCCI Deputy President), Mr. Tan Huang Kew (Organizing Chairman), Chinese Consul General in Penang, Perak State Secretary, Perak State Treasurer, Perak State Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker, Perak State Executive Council Members, Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen.
The celebration was marked by the Yee Sang tossing, speeches, cultural and dance performances, as well as video presentation. Total of 60 tables were served.
